Postdoctoral Research Associate
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral research associate to work on an MS Society Funded project examining risk factors for Multiple Sclerosis in large datasets. This project will develop and test how genetic and environmental exposures associate with the development of multiple sclerosis (MS), and how associations are potentially mediated by demographic factors including deprivation and race.
About You
We are looking for someone with proven skills in large data analysis, ideally with experience of working with UK datasets such as Our Future Health and/or UK Biobank, and with skills in both epidemiological and genomic data analysis. Specific desirable statistical skills include knowledge of and familiarity with techniques for developing, fine-tuning, and validating risk scores. Data science skills should include proficiency in either R or Python, and would ideally include a basic familiarity with command line tools for genomic analysis such as PLINK, REGENIE, and PRSice. The analysis will likely take place in a cloud computing environment, and so some familiarity with this way of working is also desirable.
