Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biomaterials in Architecture to join , .

This position provides an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic interdisciplinary research team contributing to a number of government and industry-funded research projects. The projects investigate the architectural potentials of using local biogenic materials, emerging technologies and pioneering approaches to architectural design and construction using computational design, robotics and human-computer interaction to enhance the sustainability and resilience of buildings and infrastructure. We are seeking a Research Fellow with expertise in at least one of the following areas: • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with biogenic materials. • Proven proficiency in the use of 3D printing technology. • Proven proficiency in computational design and programming skills. • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team of PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, professors and industry partners and will have access to state-of-the art research facilities, world-class teaching spaces, and international collaboration opportunities. The position provides significant opportunities for growth and to pursue a career in academia or industry.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a doctoral qualification in Architecture, Design, Engineering or Science or closely related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience and expertise in in working with biogenic materials.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in one or all of the following areas: additive fabrication technology, robotic 3D printing.
  4. A history of publishing research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, highlighting research productivity and quality.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through working with colleagues, supervisors and external stakeholders.
  6. Excellent communication skills demonstrated by relevant documentation and demonstration of working collaboratively with industry partners.

Level B

In addition to the above criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an excellent research program that supports or complements existing research strengths in the School of Architecture and Built Environment.
  2. A strong track record of publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, highlighting research productivity and quality.
