Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Quantum Devices and Materials
Based in the Quantum and Nano Technology Group (QuaNTeG) in the School of Chemical Engineering at the Adelaide City Campus
Full-time, fixed term contract for 24 months with the possibility of extension dependent on funding
Salary Range: $102,024 - $109,307 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
In this role, you will help advance sovereign quantum technology by driving the development of cutting-edge quantum devices and materials. Your work will strengthen Adelaide’s research leadership and support Australia’s rapidly growing quantum industry and defence capability.
The role requires a strong foundation in radio frequency (RF) and low temperatures characterisation techniques, paired with a willingness to engage in theoretical activities.
Working under the general direction of the Quantum and Nano Technology Group (QuaNTeG) Associate Professor, you will operate at the forefront of quantum materials research within one of the world’s most advanced sovereign quantum materials design and fabrication facilities.
You will have the opportunity to combine theoretical modelling with hands-on device implementation and testing, collaborating closely with academic partners and industry leaders such as the BECA Group and REQUIEM Systems.

Experience
- A PhD in Quantum Physics or Quantum Device Engineering, and a good knowledge of radio frequencies measurements techniques.
- Highly motivated with proven ability to conduct independent experimental quantum research with a strong commitment to achieving outcomes of high quality and on time.
- Good track record of high-quality publications and presentations, with a high level of interest in being involved in professional activities relating to research, relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and oversee postgraduate and honours students in the research area.
