Research environment
You will take part in research activities at the Division of Cell and Neurobiology and the research group of Associate Professor Wen Zhong, fellow in the Swedish national program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS). The DDLS program focuses on the integration of multi-omics, the interplay between genetics and phenotypes, and the development of AI-driven strategies/tools for precision medicine. The DDLS program is a 12-year initiative funded with a total of 3.1 billion SEK (about 300 MEuro, 350 MUSD) from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The purpose of the program is to recruit and train the next-generation of data-driven life scientists and to create globally leading computational and data science capabilities in life science in Sweden.
Research project
The rapid development of AI technologies and high-throughput molecular technologies is transforming the landscape of next-generation molecular diagnostics, early disease detection, and individualized risk stratification. Within this postdoctoral project, we aim to develop AI-driven analytical frameworks for multi-omics integration and precision medicine-based decision support.
As postdoctoral fellow, you will focus on the construction of multi-scale molecular health and disease network and develop AI-based analytical infrastructures to inform precision medicine-based decision support. The position entails collaborative work within an environment of doctoral and post-doctoral students, principal research engineers and experienced clinicians. Advanced modern facilities and resources, including Berzelius HPC system, a 300-petaflop NVIDIA SuperPOD resource, multi-omics platforms and bioinformatics infrastructures are fully accessed to facilitate the development of data-driven computational tools.

Skills/Qualifications
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with documented experience and a strong research interest in AI-driven Precision Medicine and Systems Biology. The applicant should have a doctoral degree in the field of AI, computational science, bioinformatics, or similar field, and must have demonstrated successful completion of projects during the graduate thesis studies. Practical experience in AI, multi-omics analyses and systematic bioinformatics techniques is a strong advantage. Excellent programming skills (Python/R) and a solid training in AI or machine learning are highly preferred. A strong publication record, good knowledge of English language and the ability to work in a team are required.

Appointment is initially for one year with a possibility of an extension up to a total time for receiving a scholarship from Linköping University which cannot exceed two years.
The scholarship amounts to SEK 29 000:-/month (tax-free) (~€ 2,700/month). Funding can be available to participate in conferences.

Eligibility criteria
Scholarships can only be awarded to foreign citizens with a doctoral degree or equivalent obtained in a country other than Sweden. The date of the doctoral degree must be no more than four years before the application deadline; exceptions are made for e.g. parental or sick leave. The applicant must not have been employed by Linköping University previously.
Scholarship may not consist solely of research collaboration with a mutual exchange of methodological and technical expertise but must also contain a well-defined training element and a qualification plan must be established for the scholarship period.
