About us
Biosciences is one of the worldās foremost centres for research and teaching in the biological sciences and one of the largest Divisions within UCL, undertaking a significant amount of research and teaching.
About the role
The main purpose of this position is to carry out cutting edge research. The team for this project includes a biochemist, a structural biologist, and a systems biologists with experience in functional genomics. The three will work as closely knit team in a multidisciplinary fashion, taking ownership of their project and happy to collaborate.
Your research will focus on integrated structural biology approaches to study transcription in archaeal organisms including:
- Extensive experience with the production of recombinant proteins
- Extensive and proven experience in biomolecular structure determination using
- a) cryo-Electron Microscopy
- b) cryo-Electron Tomography
- c) X-ray crystallography
3.Preferably published in techniques mentioned above

About you
You will need the following skills and experience:
- Proven track record in recombinant protein purification and handling for structural analyses
- Proven track record in biomolecular structure determination using X-ray crystallography, cryo-Electron Microscopy and cryo-Electron Tomography
- Robust experience working with complex molecular machines in vitro and in vivo
- Preferably published well in the fields of transcription or translation
