Pre-Degree Lecturer in Mathematics (m/f/d)
(full-time; 38.5 hrs./week, limited; 2 years)
Constructor University seeks an inspired lecturer to teach Mathematics modules over two consecutive semesters within the academic year. The Pre-Degree programs offer small class groups (25-30 students) and thus the interested candidate should be able to teach the material in a highly interactive manner. The candidate will receive multiple support and guidance from the team and the opportunity to grow their career within the department.
Your Responsibilities:
- Demonstrable interest in innovative teaching (e.g. Hybrid Teaching) and learning approaches.
- Teaching Mathematics modules in introductory Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics.
- Supervision of learning processes and assessing their outcomes through weekly tutorials.
- Administration, proctoring and correction of student examinations (midterm, final, makeup).
- Effective use and population of Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle) for course material (e.g. slides) and assessment (e.g. assignments, online quizzes) delivery.
- Dedicated weekly in-person teaching with administrative responsibilities on campus.
- Training students for the TestAS qualifying exam.
Your Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree in mathematics or a related field (PhD is desirable).
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics-related subjects.
- Proven experience in teaching in international and diverse environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus.
- Intercultural experience and competence.
