We offer an up to 4-year contract for a predoctoral student within the group of Cardiac Tissue Engineering at the University of Navarra and Cima (https://cima.cun.es/investigacion/programas-investigacion/programa-inve…), to conduct a PhD centred on the biofabrication of next generation human engineered 3D cardiac tissue by embedding synthetic circuits into hiPSCs. The applicant will receive training in a highly multidisciplinar field, acquiring expertise on circuit design, gene editing, hiPSC cardiovascular differentiation, engineered tissue assembly and analysis, including molecular biology and imaging. Animal experiments are envisioned during the course of the project. International mobility within the PhD period is also considered.

Skills/Qualifications
The applicant must be a self-motivated person, with high enthusiasm for scientific discovery and a good deal of resilience. Capacity to work within a team is required.
Expected technical capacities (must be proven) include:
- General mammalian cell culture
- hiPSC culture and cardiac differentiation
- Molecular biology (RNA extraction, RT, qPCR)
- IF staining and imaging (inc. image processing and quantitative analysis of features)
- General labwork (tidiness, experiment-recording, etc)
