Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Tutor Coaches

The School of Law and Justice Studies within the Faculty of Society and Culture is looking to appoint three Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Tutor Coaches for a fixed term of 2 years to support the delivery of the Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme.
The programme is externally funded and the team work in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and the regional Probation areas that it has responsibility for. It is important therefore that candidates must have demonstrable experience of working in the Probation Service in the first instance, as well as an understanding of the criminal justice sector more broadly and be able to evidence how they have worked with stakeholders in the past.
You will be required to develop and maintain a relationship with apprentices and their employers with the primary goal of providing the apprentices with the necessary coaching support required for them to complete the Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship. You will additionally be required to work with key stakeholders, working together to integrate academic study with the specific responsibilities of the apprentices' work role. You will be required to have a sound knowledge of the work of the Probation Service and the criminal justice sector and also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of an apprenticeship and apprenticeship standards.
This role will require regular travel to apprentices’ places of employment to support successful qualification achievement. The regions to be covered are: East and West Midlands, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, North West and Greater Manchester.
