The Department of Music at the University of the Arts Bremen is seeking to fill a  

Professorship for Jazz Drums (f/m/d)

half-time position in an employment relationship

Remuneration according to salary group W 2 Reference number WP 26/16  

until 01.04.2027 or as soon as possible.

This is a position with an artistic teaching commitment of currently 9.0 SWS (hours per week).  

To fill a W2 professorship in jazz drums, the University of the Arts Bremen is seeking an outstanding artistic figure who has completed a university degree with a major in jazz drums and, as a rule, has at least one year of relevant teaching experience in jazz drums at a conservatory, music college or comparable institution. 

Experience in areas such as recording, producing, and playing in ensembles is desirable.

Applicants must demonstrate several years of international concert experience.The scope of responsibilities includes teaching drums as an instrumental subject in all degree programs that offer jazz-specific and jazz-related courses.

Outstanding teaching skills and a willingness to participate in both committee work and academic self-administration are expected. It would also be desirable for applicants to be open to interdisciplinary collaboration.

The professorship requires continuous commitment of half of the position's working hours on-site at the Bremen University of the Arts. Furthermore, the employment requirements under Section 116 of the Bremen Civil Service Act apply analogously.
