Program Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
The RISE Center is seeking a Program Assistant who brings energy, initiative, and strong execution skills to support student engagement, belonging programming, leadership initiatives, and campus-wide events. This position plays a primary role in planning and delivering high-impact student experiences- from ideation through implementation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of projects, anticipates needs, are student-centered, detail oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment. The Program Assistant regularly engages with students, faculty, staff, and community partners and contributes to a welcoming, inclusive campus culture. This position reports to the Project Coordinator of Student Engagement & Development
OVERVIEW OF CCA
The Community College of Aurora serves our diverse community by providing high-quality instruction and support services to prepare students for transfer and employment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Campus Wide Programming
- Coordinate campus wide programs and events from ideation to execution, including logistics and on-site support, ensuring smooth event operations
- Partner with internal departments, community organizations, and campus stakeholders to support co-curricular learning and student success
- Collaborate on event promotion, tabling, and campus outreach efforts
Student Leadership & Engagement Support
- Serve as co-advisor for Student Government Association (SGA)
- Assist with training, onboarding, and ongoing coaching for student staff and student leaders
- Support leadership development and belonging initiatives that center diverse student identities and experiences
Administrative & Office Support
- Serve as a RISE Center representative by covering the front desk and providing high-quality customer service to students and guests
- Manage inventory, event supplies, and shared office and storage spaces
- Support students in navigating systems, utilizing technology platforms, and scheduling appointments
- Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Project Coordinator of Student Engagement & Development
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years work experience within a college-level setting or comparable field or associates degree
- Background in a higher education setting or comparable event-driven environment
- Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and executing events
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow projects through to completion with strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
- Experience engaging with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging in student-centered work
- Reliable transportation to and from events across all three campuses
- Able to work a flexible schedule (28 hours per week)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and/or completed graduate level education in student affairs and/or comparable field
- Experience working with and/or supervising student leaders or volunteer groups
- Familiarity with platforms including Canva, Formstack, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Office
- Experience supporting leadership development, student engagement, and belonging-focused programming
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Salary Range: The starting rate is $23 per hour at 28 hours per week.
