Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
PURPOSE
Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the project
coordinator will provide assistance in assessing, creating, and
marketing signature programs. Primary areas of responsibility
include project research; build collaborative relationships with
student leaders; oversee projects and programs directly related
strategic priorities for Student Affairs; and implement assessment
strategies for evaluating efforts to inform future decisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Implement assessment strategies for evaluating efforts to
inform future decisions
Serve as liaison between the students, student organizations
and student government when needed
Serve as liaison between students other departments to gather
information to appropriately and communicate Vice President
initiatives
Assist with composing and preparing student communication
Project management related to conformance to regulations and
associated reporting
Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and
student-centered environment
Other related duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications
including Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
required
- Excellent ability to problem-solve within large
institutions/systems is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively
and collegially with students, faculty, administrators, colleagues
and outside parties required
- Positive, proactive approach to work required
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality is a
must
- Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and to
work collaboratively within a team required
- Must be detail oriented
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Current student
- Clear desire to serve students and deliver on our mission as
Fairmont State University
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving
skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to
strict timelines
- High degree of initiative and independent judgment
- A commitment to professional and personal growth
- Demonstrates clear communication of ideas orally and
verbally
- An understanding of the group process and demonstrates skill in
working with various groups
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation
- Understands and abides by a high standard of professional
ethics to ensure the integrity of Student Affairs division
- The ability to diffuse and manage stressful situations using
appropriate techniques
