About the Project Coordinator Role (HEO6)

The Project Coordinator will undertake research support in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health under general to broad direction of the Chief Investigators. Working within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to project coordination and implementation, stakeholder engagement, the collection of data and the dissemination of findings. A snapshot of diverse tasks and duties for this position are listed below:

• Deliver against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research Team’s project outcomes and milestones.
• Managing calendars and event scheduling, taking meeting notes and actions, and making bookings including venue hire and catering.
• Contributing to confidential and ethical data management for designated projects.
• Assisting the Project Research Team with the preparation and submission of ethics applications (including AHREC and SA Health sites).
• Establishing and maintaining collaborations within the University, and at State, national and international levels to improve research outputs, patents and publications.

About You

You are an established Project Coordinator or Project Management professional who is passionate about providing project operational support in a Research Team environment, and is keen to apply your skillset in an area where it matters most; supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health research. You have outstanding consultation and interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate your ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders in both written and oral modes. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and/or specialist expertise or broad knowledge in public health; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training in public health or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver project targets on time.
• Demonstrated well-developed experience handling confidential information ethically, securely and professionally, including research results, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or other marginalised communities.

About the Research Associate Role (Level A)

As the Research Associate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research, you will work with the Research Team and contribute to project design and implementation, the collection and analysis of data, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. You will also have the opportunity to actively report on new and current research related to the research program through the generation of high-quality publications and conference presentations. In addition, the Research Associate will contribute to the preparation of applications for externally funded research funding. You will have the opportunity to play a leading role in the following areas:

• Leading allocated projects by collaborating with the Project Research Team to deliver project milestones and KPI’s, by successfully coordinating, planning and executing project tasks.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of research by offering new ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the collection and analysis of data and attending seminars, meetings and conferences.
• Contributing to and collaborating with industry partners, stakeholder engagement, and participant recruitment and communication.
• Contributing to ethical, high quality and innovative research and evaluation through activities such as scholarship, quality publication, external grant acquisition and presentations that aligns with the College areas of research strength and focus.
• Assisting principal supervisors with supervision of postgraduate students.

About You

You are an emerging researcher who is passionate about contributing to the meaningful research of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health. Your commitment to best-practice research approaches is best highlighted by your experience working with qualitative Indigenous methodology and your post-graduate study in public health or equivalent on-the-job experience. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholder is underpinned by your vast network and the trusting industry relationships you have developed. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated experience in confidential and ethical data collection and analysis, and in contributing to project planning and co-ordination.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver project targets on time.
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or other marginalised communities.
• Demonstrated ability to critically review the literature in relevant fields.
