Project Management Specialist, Pediatrics Children's Health Services
Job Summary
The Project Management Specialist is responsible for leading medium-to-large-scale projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget. This role develops and manages project plans, monitors project performance, identifies risks and shortfalls, and provides regular updates on project progress, stakeholder engagement activities, and project metrics.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Develops and manages project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, project governance standards, and applicable research or engagement protocols
- Monitors project performance, identifies risks and shortfalls, and implements corrective actions as needed
- Communicates project updates, priorities, timelines, risks, and recommendations to leadership, stakeholders, and team members
- Coordinated stakeholder engagement efforts, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, workshops, and community feedback sessions as appropriate
- Provides guidance, mentorship, and support to less experienced team members.
General Responsibilities
- Manages medium to large projects, from start to finish, ensuring on time completion within budget
- Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls
- Coordinates and facilitates efforts of project team(s) consisting of various staff and hourly employees
- Communicates ongoing changes in tasks, goals, or performance
- Collaborates to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames
- Participates in client meetings, vendor/contract decisions, and development of project requirements and specifications
- May provide guidance and support to less experienced peers
