Based at CQT, the Project Manager (Quantum Algorithms & Software Applications) will be part of the team contributing to Singapore’s National Quantum Computing Hub (NQCH). CQT is one of the founding partners of the Hub, launched in 2022 to build capabilities, community and collaborations in quantum computing. NQCH is a joint initiative with A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing and the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore. This role manages a project on quantum algorithms and solutions hosted in CQT for NQCH.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Drive end-to-end project management for a new programme on advanced quantum algorithms and solutions, which focuses on applications of quantum processors.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: researchers from different research institutions, grantors, outreach units, and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Track project progress by managing timelines planning and budgeting, and produce periodic updates, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Operations & Administrative Management

  • Oversee day-to-day programme operations and core administrative functions, including HR coordination, budgeting, procurement support, cloud access requirements, and resolving operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational processes, grant requirements, and administrative workflows.
  • Provide operational support for programmes, events, meetings, facility usage, and stakeholder engagements to ensure smooth and efficient activities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach Activities

  • Communicate abstract quantum research and project updates in an accessible way at outreach events to audiences that include students, early career candidates, parallel industry representatives, and general community.
  • Engage industry needs and translate them into opportunities for research collaboration or use-case exploration.
  • Deliver high-impact technical keynotes, breakout sessions, and workshops on quantum computing designed to inspire, engage, and actively grow our quantum ecosystem.
  • Organise and manage engagement activities such as roundtables, workshops, networking events, and industry consultations.
  • Develop engaging presentation materials, including slide decks, and interactive quantum circuit visualizations that effectively communicate complex concepts.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a quantum-grounded field (Physics, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Ph.D. in quantum relevant fields is a plus.
  • Strong curiosity in quantum technologies, with confident understanding in quantum computing principles (e.g., superposition, entanglement, quantum gates) and quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor’s, Grover’s, QML).
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, industry engagement, partnership development, or ecosystem-building roles.
  • Effective in public speaking and communication, with a proven track record of explaining highly technical, abstract concepts to diverse audiences
