Project Officer
Why Your Role Matters
As Project Officer, you will provide practical and efficient project support within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture.
The role supports the ADA Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement portfolio through project coordination, reporting and analytical support, communications, stakeholder engagement and administrative support for key programs and projects.
The position reports to the ADA Executive Officer, supporting the Associate Dean, Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement, and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities Summary
- Support the delivery of Faculty and Division projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Support the development of project plans and schedules and participate in planning processes as required.
- Monitor, track and report on project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics align with approved project plans.
- Provide practical and proactive project support and administrative services to project teams and stakeholders.
- Assess and monitor project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Coordinate project administration, including workshops and meetings, minute taking, assigned actions, follow-ups and project status reporting.
- Provide secretariat support for governance boards and committees.
- Develop and manage effective communications with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Support adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within defined and consistent processes.
Skills and Experience Summary
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines using judgement and initiative.
- Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, while also taking initiative and working independently.
