Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

The University of South Carolina Beaufort seeks a bold, student centered Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to energize a dynamic academic community across USCB’s campuses and serve as the university’s chief academic officer. Reporting to the Chancellor and serving as a key member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, the Provost provides strategic, administrative, and intellectual leadership for all academic programs and units, oversees Libraries, Institutional Effectiveness and Research, grants and sponsored programs, eLearning, the Center for Teaching and Learning, academic centers and institutes including the Sea Islands Institute, Beaufort College Honors, Pritchard’s Island, and other academic support services.

The Provost champions faculty excellence and shared governance, recruits and develops outstanding faculty and academic leaders, evaluates department chairs and Academic Affairs personnel, and recommends promotion, tenure, and salary actions to the Chancellor. The Provost drives university wide strategic and academic planning, assessment, accreditation, and program approvals, advances high impact educational practices that deepen student learning and success, and expands the university’s research capacity through strong external partnerships.
