Job Description Summary: The Clinical Child Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center is a time-limited advanced training position within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences designed to provide supervised clinical and scholarly training in child and adolescent psychology. The fellow will participate in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, behavioral health interventions, interdisciplinary patient care, supervision, and teaching activities involving children and adolescents with psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and medical conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Job Duties

  • Deliver clinical and academic services to patients, students, and trainees of the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Health System.
  • Conduct individual and group psychotherapy, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, consultations with patients and medical professionals, and integrated clinical report writing.
  • Provide behavioral health interventions for children and adolescents with psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and co-occurring medical conditions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and collaborative patient care activities across outpatient and inpatient clinical settings.
  • Engage in assigned scholarly and research-related activities, including initiation and completion of approved projects.
  • Supervise clinical services and training activities provided by Psychology Interns within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Required Qualifications

Education: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or completion of all degree requirements, including a one-year full-time internship from an APA-accredited program.

Work Experience: Training in an APA accredited or approved PhD or PsyD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Relevant practitioner-scholar training experience in Neurorehabilitation Psychology; Child and Adolescent Psychology; Clinical Health Psychology; and/or Advanced Clinical Psychology.
