PT Adjunct Clinical Instructor - Obstetrical

Position Description Summary/Purpose
The Department of Nursing at Goodwin University is seeking an MSN-prepared individual to serve as an obstetrical adjunct clinical instructor in our undergraduate nursing programs. This is an adjunct position; (1 or more) 9.5-hour (plus up to 3 hours of prep/paperwork), weekend or weekday (day or evening) obstetrical clinical. You would be responsible for supervising students during their assignments in the clinical (and lab/simulation on campus) setting and evaluating students’ written clinical packet and other assignments.
*This would be for a Fall 2026 start*
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate the obstetrical clinical experience across the curriculum
- Review and provide weekly feedback to students on clinical packets and other assignments as appropriate.
- Complete a midterm and final evaluation for each student per clinical rotation.
- Assist with the clinical experience in the nursing skills and simulation laboratory.
- Support students and lab faculty as needed in the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course and clinical learning outcomes.
- Maintains standard of care with relation to safety protocols across both the work clinical and laboratory environments.

- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

- Ability to effectively communicate with clinical partners, colleagues and students
- Direct Obstetrical clinical experience, preferably 3-5 years
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
- Prepared at the MSN level
- 3-5+ years of Obstetrical nursing experience
- Teaching experience with RN students is preferred
- An active license or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
