PT - English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Adjunct Instructor
Summary of Function
Grant-funded. Provide structured instruction for the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses in the Adult Education Program. Deliver instruction aligned with Arizona Department of Education English Language Proficiency standards to help youth and adult learners develop the skills needed to complete the English Language Program and transition to career pathways or post-secondary education. Teach civic education using the assigned curriculum. Support students through clear communication, individualized assistance, and collaboration with staff. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness. This is a part-time, grant-funded position.
Typical Duties
- Serves students by fulfilling the institution's Student Experience Statement. Provides instruction using appropriate strategies that demonstrate teaching excellence through evidence-based practices that foster student learning.
- Develops, plans, and delivers course content, administers assessments, and provides feedback and grades to students through the learning management system.
- Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time, including grades and attendance, in accordance with institutional requirements, utilizing designated reporting tools.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Supports and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Current ESL teaching credential preferred
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Arizona Adult Education Certificate
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Minimum of three years teaching experience
