Description
The Cerritos College Theatre Department, part of the Fine Arts Division of Cerritos College, is a vibrant, growing program that produces a minimum of four stage shows a year. Our students receive comprehensive training in the Theatre Arts that enables them to work professionally and/or continue their studies at four-year institutions and professional training programs.
Job Duties
ALL FACULTY SHALL: Maintain currency with current information, concepts, laws and ideas in their disciplines and with best practices in teaching and learning. Teach all assigned classes, keep accurate records, submit grades and reports by deadlines, and maintain a safe learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities OR the equivalent. Understanding of and sensitivity to meeting the needs of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic background of the student, community, and employee population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of full-time teaching experience in higher education
- A track record as director of productions with undergraduate performers
- An artist/teacher who is committed to student success
- Additional teaching expertise in any of the following is desirable: Theatre History, Singing, Acting, Movement, Acting for the Camera, etc.
