Description
The Program in Public Health at Stony Brook is seeking to hire one (1) instructor for a non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will possess the experience and skills necessary to offer innovative instruction for our MPH Program with the potential to contribute to other degree programs that we offer. The Program in Public Health holds accreditation by both the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for the MPH, and the Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) for the MHA.
The MPH program is primarily delivered in a traditional face-to-face modality with some hybrid and online courses depending on the concentration. Areas of specialization include community health, health policy and management, advanced epidemiology and biostatistics, climate solutions and health, and a generalist option for clinical students. We especially encourage applications from candidates who can contribute to our teaching mission in topic areas related to quantitative methods including but not limited to biostatistics, epidemiology, data analytics, and research methods. The position is primarily teaching-focused, with some expectation of contributing to departmental and institutional service (87.5% teaching, 12.5% service). Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses and career advising, including faculty supervision with applied practice. The teaching load, to include advising, will be equivalent to 7 courses over each 12-month period.
The base salary for this position is $100,000-$120,000 per year. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
