Role Summary
Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Events Assistant to join our team.
We are looking for someone with a background in events, who is passionate, detail orientated and organised to slot into our innovative and forward-thinking team.
Support the work of a team that oversees in-person and virtual events to promote BCU to prospective students, alongside supporting with off campus engagement at higher education recruitment fairs. The role may also include involvement with other events throughout the year, notably student recruitment activities such as Clearing operations.
Support the planning and delivery of the University’s corporate recruitment events – Open Days, Offer Holder Days, campus tours and postgraduate events, including liaising with internal Schools, departments and external organisations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate events including making bookings, liaising with event organisers, contributors and attendees to ensure details of events are clearly understood and communicated.
- Provide general support, trouble shooting and assistance to help with 'on-the-day' issues and ensure events run smoothly as directed by the Recruitment Events Manager.
- Work with a range ofof internal and external stakeholders involved in major university recruitment events and liaise with them where directed by the Recruitment Events Manager or Officers.
- Deliver high-quality support for off campus events, including UCAS, WhatUni and postgraduate fairs.
- Support the Recruitment Events Manager and Officers to ensure that multiple, often large scale, activities and events are able to run simultaneously, prioritising appropriately, and managing workload.
- Helping to ensure the necessary staffing levels of student ambassadors for events organised.
- Aid the Student Ambassador Co-ordinator to plan and carry out the training and supervising of student ambassadors in advance of and during events.
- Working with Marketing colleagues to ensure that all delivered material is of a consistently high standard.
- Assist in ensuring the effective delivery of virtual and hybrid events, including for international audiences.
- Assist in ensuring the effective delivery of business critical Student Recruitment activities, such as Clearing.
- Ensure that appropriate risk management processes are operational within own areas of responsibility.
- Any other duties commensurate with the post as required by the Recruitment Events Manager.
- Assist and support the wide range of activities undertaken within the Department in support of student recruitment, including open days, offer holder days, business/community events, Clearing and the production of marketing collateral.
£28,995 to £32,006 per annum
