Recycling/Waste Management I

Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining the university’s waste management program by servicing litter control barrels that are located throughout the university grounds.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of running pickup routes.
• Experience with handling operating manuals and work orders.
• Ability to establish a rapport with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to prioritizing workloads and monitor equipment and vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to operate a compactor and forklift.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs alone and 80 lbs with help.

Job Duties

• Run recycling routes.
• Pick up of recyclable material on campus including emergency pick-ups.
• Processing of recyclable material collected on campus.
• Work special events.
• Ensures work time is recorded on work orders.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles that are used on a daily basis.
• Support and assist recycling and waste management coordinator in program operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
