The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
The Regional Manager is responsible for leading business‑to‑business relationships with key education agencies, schools, and partner institutions. The role provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of targeted marketing and recruitment initiatives, working closely with offshore and onshore recruitment teams under the direction of the Senior Manager – International Student Recruitment.
This role also delivers in‑depth market intelligence and data‑driven insights, identifying emerging trends, opportunities, and key stakeholders within the region. Working collaboratively with the broader AUT International team, the Regional Manager contributes to achieving overall and region‑specific KPIs, with a strong focus on priority South Asia markets and strategic agency partnerships that support enrolment growth and brand visibility.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum five years’ experience working in the International Office or similar environment
- Proven experience building and managing relationships with government and private sector recruitment organisations and agents
- A sound understanding of the international education environment, with particular knowledge of the South Asia market
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise, influence, and work effectively in a multicultural context
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to organise events if required
- High level of IT literacy, including MS Office applications, databases, and digital communication tools
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide proactive solutions to agents, students, and the wider community
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
