Research Aide
Temporary position extending from May 1st through mid-November. Assists with field work related to re-introductions of rare and endangered fish species. Sampling methods will include but may not be limited to various forms of electro-fishing (boat, long-line, backpack, tote barge), use of nets (seines, dip nets, and benthic trawls), and various water quality equipment. Travel throughout Ohio and occasionally to surrounding states is required. Field work will occasionally require overnight stays. Working outdoors under adverse weather conditions and or long hours is expected. Good communication skills and ability to work closely with a team of 3-4 individuals is required. Helping to prepare, organize, and maintain field equipment. Recording of data both in the field and data entry into excel spreadsheets.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma; 0-1 years of relevant experience; interest in restoration and conservation of rare and endangered fish species; valid drivers license; Ohio boating license or willing to get one at start of position.
