Job Description

The Duke-NUS Centre for Biomedical Data Science (CBDS) serves as a central hub for Duke-NUS faculty specialising in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other quantitative and data-driven sciences. CBDS functions as a strategic platform for cutting-edge research, education, and services in data science, AI, and biomedical computation, building on existing institutional initiatives such as DAISI.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of research activities under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

  • Implement analysis pipelines and machine learning algorithms to analyse high-throughput genomic data, biobank data, and clinical data.
  • Write high-quality technical and methodological reports or research papers.
  • Attend project meetings and present research outcomes.
  • Collaborate on multiple projects within the lab.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computing, or related areas with strong mathematical knowledge.
  • Possess strong computational skills in high-performance computing (HPC) environments and proficiency in a Linux environment and programming languages such as R, Perl, Python etc.
  • Prior experience in high-throughput genomics and sequencing data analysis, and/or machine learning.
  • Have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
  • An interest in applying statistics to solve real-world medical problems.
