UCD Spatial Dynamics Lab is seeking a Research Assistant with a background in Computer Science to support the technical development of XR-based participatory visualisation tools within the BLUEPRINT project. A central challenge in urban renovation is that high-level technical data, such as energy performance, mobility, poverty, and climate resilience, is often inaccessible to the citizens it impacts most.
This role is dedicated to bridging that gap by developing participatory digital tools that transform complex datasets into intuitive, interactive visualisations for broad stakeholder engagement. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will integrate Multi-scale Digital Twins (DT) with Extended Reality (XR) environments to create immersive scenario modelling and 3D visualisation of the data. These tools will allow citizens and local authorities to visualise the socio-economic and environmental effects of renovation interventions in real-time.
Research Assistant Salary Range: €34,129 - €44,311 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
