Job Overview
The laboratory of Dr. Guo-Chang Fan in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is looking for a motivated Research Assistant to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects on macrophage-mediated efferocytosis in cardiovascular disease, maintaining lab animal colonies, and make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.
Essential Functions
- Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
- May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data
- May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry
- Apply research principles for less complex assignments
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Neuroscience or a related field
Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
Additional Qualifications Considered
At least one year of lab experience including cell culture, confocal microscopy, macrophages, RNA preparation for genotyping, RT-PCR, Western blotting, and data analysis using R and Python.
