Research Assistant in Quantum Systems
The role
In this role you will:
- Assist the Ion Beam Centre, SIMPLE group with post-implant characterisation and analysis of colour-centres
- Work with SIMPLE/IBC team to develop/commission the characterisation facilities
- Commissioning of the IBC confocal PL system
- Investigate/contribute towards establishing long term funding opportunities
- Train other staff on the new confocal PL system
About you
You will have:
- Completed, or be working towards completion of, a PhD in relevant research area
- In-depth knowledge and experience of confocal PL systems and techniques
- A strong background in colour-centre generation and analysis, particularly the Diamond and SiC material systems
- Good working knowledge of single-ion-implantation techniques and processes
- Ideally a good working relationship with both supply chain (such as Element6, Thorlabs) and stakeholder/collaborative organisations
