We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an education background and interest in plant pathology, plant biology, crop science and molecular biology and who enjoys working in a team.

The Research Assistant will conduct research within the Plant Biochemistry Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Emmanuelle Graciet, in the Department of Biology. The project in which the Research Assistant will be involved in aims at setting up and identifying methods to control clubroot disease in Ireland, while also screening for resistant varieties for this pathogen. The Research Assistant will also interact with other research groups located in the Crop Science Department at Teagasc Oak Park (Carlow).

This is an excellent opportunity for a Research Assistant aiming at gaining research experience and training in a collegial team-based environment.

Salary:

Research Assistant (level 1) (2026): €33,792 p.a. (1 point - with increment)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
