Job Description
The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant position for the period of August 2026 to July 2027. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Dean Dulay, Assistant Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The successful candidate will support an active research program in comparative politics, with a thematic focus on state formation, colonial political development, governance, and public opinion in Southeast Asia and beyond.
- Conduct and synthesize literature reviews
- Assist in the design and implementation of survey and experimental studies
- Support multi-country data collection and fieldwork
- Carry out qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
- Assist with interview coordination and transcription as part of ongoing fieldwork activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related social science discipline
- Prior research experience in comparative politics or Southeast Asian studies (advantageous)
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis preferred
- Working knowledge of statistical software, particularly Stata and R, strongly desirable
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple tasks across concurrent projects in a fast-paced research environment
- Due to nature of the role, strong written and oral communication skills in English required
This is a one-year, full-time appointment based in Singapore, with the possibility of extension subject to performance and funding availability.
