Work on tasks within the scope of the BMWE-funded LuFo project “Sonrisa”
Conducting and evaluating computed tomography measurements using the Department 8.5’s laboratory micro-computed tomography (XCT) systems
Leading and implementing the work package “Workflow development for zone-based XCT analysis (Region-of-Interest XCT)”
XCT simulations using BAM’s proprietary aRTist software, as well as correlation of simulation results with XCT measurements
Development of a Region-of-Interest workflow for XCT
Assistance in the maintenance of the Department 8.5’s laboratory micro-computed tomography systems
Active participation in project meetings and detailed coordination with project partners
Active participation in the BAM Materials focus area
Cooperation with internal and external research groups as well as with industrial partners
Detailed scientific documentation of the results through journal articles, presentations at national and international conferences, publications, and reports

A successfully completed university degree in physics, engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physical engineering, or a related field
In-depth knowledge and experience in computed tomography
In-depth experience and knowledge in digital image processing and analysis
Proficiency in one or more programming languages relevant to the role (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++)
Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
Knowledge of materials science, particularly additively manufactured metals using the powder bed fusion process (PBF-LB/M) as well as the process itself, is desirable
Knowledge of the generation or evaluation of simulated computed tomography data is desirable
Experience with the simulation software “aRTist” is desirable
Proficiency in German (spoken and written), or a willingness to learn German or to improve existing German language skills
Strong communication and information management skills, initiative and commitment, decision-making ability, teamwork and cooperation skills, as well as the ability to think conceptually, strategically, and innovatively
