The Mellon College of Science (MCS) is home to four departments and many programs and research centers that cross disciplines. Our Biological Sciences department is seeking a Research Assistant to play a pivotal role in bringing science to life for our students.

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for making solutions and prep materials for lab classes.
• Maintains stock lab supplies in the UG labs in both MI and DH.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and glassware
• Performs specific lab duties as required by the lab classes.
• Prepares solutions and aliquots materials for lab classes
• Ability to work with Instructors, staff Teaching Assistants and students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in research, data collection, analysis, and record management are highly preferred.
• A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
• Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)
• OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training
