Job Description

The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), College of Design and Engineering (CDE) at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor (RAP) position on the Research Track. The successful candidate will establish an independent research programme in translational biomaterials and biomedical device engineering, with a focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Biomaterials design for hemostasis, wound healing, or trauma care
  • Immune engineering and in-vivo cell programming using biomaterial scaffolds.
  • Long-acting drug delivery systems and controlled-release depot technologies.
  • Formulation science and translational pharmaceutical development.

The appointee will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research programme, contribute to graduate student supervision, and engage with clinical and industry partners to advance translational research outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Possess a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmacy, or a closely related field.
  • Candidates with post-doctoral or industry research experience in translational biomaterials, drug delivery, medical device development, or immune engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Has demonstrated track record of independent research, peer-reviewed publications, and the ability to secure competitive research funding will be advantageous.
  • Prior experience in pre-clinical validation, regulatory affairs, or technology commercialization is an asset.
  • Open to fixed-term contract.
