Experience in DNA Damage-Repair field. Experience working with others on collaborative research projects. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include characterization of the determinants of 53BP1 self-assembly to form DNA repair condensates in cancer cells. Perform microscopy and FACS based studies to quantify the condensation of 53BP1 and mutants that display assembly defects in vitro. Perform functional studies of non-homologous end-joining and DNA damage resolution in 53BP1-/- cell lines. Use biochemical reconstitution of purified fragments of 53BP1 C-terminus to identify the minimal regions required for phase separation. Work with collaborators to perform initial characterization of chromatin state in damaged cells, and to characterize LLPS of BRCA1 in homology directed repair.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical research skills, including project management, supervising students and other lab staff, working on presentations and writing papers.
