Research Associate (Part-Time)
Project Description: This project is a national network of research-advocacy partnerships to support children in immigrant families. NYU directs the Coordinating Hub for this network, under the leadership of Profs. Hirokazu Yoshikawa and Sophia Rodriguez, as well as Dr. Ann River (Senior Research Scientist and Project Director). In this role, we collaborate with the Foundation for Child Development, other foundations and two national advocacy coalitions - the Children Thrive Action Network and Protecting Immigrant Families - to provide coordinated research input to the work of advocates, organizers, and litigators.
Primary Duties:
- Assist in conducting literature reviews and gathering relevant research materials.
- Organize and maintain research databases and files.
- Assist with data analysis on projects.
- Collaborate with faculty members and fellow research assistants on project-related tasks.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of research methodologies.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $30/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be hybrid. Options for remote-only are available.
This position does not have any supervisory responsiblities.
General Qualifications:
- A BA/BS in a social science field (e.g., psychology or sociology).
- Training / coursework in research methods in the social sciences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Powerpoint suite and research databases.
Required Qualifications:
- Availability to work part-time during the specific duration.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical research practices.
