Research Associate

Description

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of expertise in mouse liver and beta cell biology, gene editing in vivo, guide RNA design, AAV delivery, genomics, cell culture techniques, FACS, and demonstrated writing skills (e.g. having published a review article). Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include performing investigations of the role of heterochromatin proteins on gene silencing in adult mouse hepatocytes (liver) and beta cells (pancreas).

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop in-vivo Crispr-based gene editing approaches with phenotypic and genotype analysis.

Candidate should have a minimum of 4-5 years postdoctoral experience.
