The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Mass Spectrometry. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to the intersection of chromatin biology and proteomics. Learn, apply, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge mass spectrometry-based methods for the quantitative analysis of nuclear proteins and histone post-translational modifications, along with a variety of biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology approaches.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to Co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
