Research Associate / Research Assistant (Longevity and Population Health)

Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a Research Associate / Research Assistant to support applied research on community-centered approaches to healthy longevity. The role involves working with healthcare, community, and government partners to generate evidence that informs practice, programme design, and policy-relevant thought leadership.

What You’ll Do

  1. Applied Programme & Policy Analysis
    • Conduct landscape analyses, scoping and systematic reviews of community-based ageing, longevity, and population health initiatives
    • Examine programmes that support purposeful engagement, contributory roles, and micro-jobs for older adults
    • Analyze initiatives using a systems and population health perspective
    • Synthesize qualitative and secondary data to identify gaps, opportunities, and patterns
    • Design tools and frameworks to evaluate and improve related initiatives for older people
  2. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
    • Work with community organizations, service providers, and government agencies
    • Support stakeholder mapping and engagement across health, social, and policy sectors
    • Conduct interviews and focus groups with participants, program implementers and policy makers
    • Co-design and facilitate stakeholder workshop using participatory methods
  3. Knowledge Translation & Reporting
    • Contribute to research reports, briefs, and presentations for academic, policy, and practice audiences
    • Support development of practice-oriented insights and recommendations
    • Assist with translating research findings into accessible outputs
    • Write manuscripts and policy reports
  4. Project Support
    • Assist with project coordination, documentation, and timelines
    • Support ethics submissions, data management, and reporting requirements

Background & Experience
- At least 2 years of experience, preferably in applied or community-based research settings

Skills & Competencies
• Strong interest in population health and ageing, with a system-oriented perspective
• Experience in qualitative research, including managing and synthesizing large volumes of qualitative data
• Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders across health, social, and community sectors
• Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to translate findings for different audiences
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative research team
• Experience engaging policy and/or community stakeholders is an advantage
• Prior experience in ageing, community health, or social programmes is an advantage
• Demonstrated track record of publications or research outputs is ideal
