Job Description
The Programme in Health Services Research and Population Health in Duke-NUS Medical School has been a leader in the study of health systems and services for the population in Singapore and beyond. Key goals have been to show whether services are effective, appropriate, scalable and economically sustainable. The multi-disciplinary and policy-driven research Duke-NUS is facilitating is done by actively engaging the government, regional health systems and social service organisations. Our research methods include implementation science, health economics, decision science, survey/qualitative research, quantitative medicine, epidemiology, and data science. The population health outcomes programme Duke-NUS has established provides a framework for evaluating and improving healthcare delivery systems nationwide.
A Research Associate/ Research Associate(Senior) position is currently available. The successful candidate will be expected to perform a range of research activities including:
- Interview clinicians and patient groups
- Manage protocols development for research projects and IRB applications.
- Develop interview guides, plan and conduct all relevant qualitative data collection activities.
- Use appropriate software to collect, manage and analyse qualitative data.
- Manage transcribing activities.
- Conduct literature reviews to find information for new research ideas.
- Extract data from existing databases and published literature.
- Manage projects from start to end with guidance (i.e. develop research objectives and study design, perform data extraction and data collation, conduct data modelling, perform analysis and engage and collaborate with various stakeholders).
- Assist in drafting research abstracts and manuscripts.
- Assist in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations to various stakeholders.
- Support the secretariat and administrative functions of the team.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in Singapore’s healthcare setting
- Have experience with Singapore’s IRB applications will be advantageous.
- Adept at collecting and working with qualitative data.
- Prior experience in various qualitative research methods and health services-related research will be advantageous.
- Proficiency with NVivo would also be an advantage.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision and in a team, with dynamic reporting lines and multiple stakeholders.
- Action-oriented, highly motivated, and target-focused.
