Description

The Applied Computational Engineering laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Associate to work on the numerical modeling and experimental analysis of advanced materials and structures.

The successful applicant will drive fascinating projects on the mechanics of advanced materials and structures. Our laboratory works on architected materials and composite structures with enhanced mechanical performance and controlled functional response. Numerical models capable of explaining physical observations are developed, accompanied by 3D printing, prototyping, and experimental testing tasks. Static, fatigue, shape-memory, and dynamic loading phenomena are investigated for diverse fields with direct applications in the mechanical, civil, aerospace, and bioengineering sectors. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of several PhD-level scientists, graduate and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a PhD in engineering or related field. Excellent experimental and numerical analysis skills (Programming, Abaqus, Ansys) are required.
