A Research Associate position funded by the MRC is available in the research group of Professors Richard Stanton, Eddie Wang, and Ian Humphreys, in the Division of Infection and Immunity at Cardiff University School of Medicine, based at Heath Park Cardiff. This role will involve examining the ways that antibodies can promote cell-mediated control of SARS-CoV-2 infection through activities such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). The lab is well funded by the Medical Research Council, National institute of Health, Biomedical and Biotechnology Research Council, and Wellcome Trust, and regularly publishes high impact research.

We are seeking a new addition to the team with a PhD (or close to submitting) in a related subject area or relevant industrial experience. The work covers a wide variety of research areas, including molecular biology, biochemistry, virology, cell biology, and immunology. The successful candidate will have significant experience in virology, ADCC-mediated control of viral infection, cellular immunology, and antibody engineering. They must show a willingness to develop skills and to work with a team that includes post-doctoral staff, PhD, and undergraduate students. Excellent communication skills, time management, and self-motivation will be essential for this role.

This is a full time (35 hours per week) fixed term post until 22 June 2028, and available immediately.

Salary: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
