Research Associate
Why Your Role Matters:
The Research Associate will contribute to the research effort of UNSW and develop their research expertise through defined projects relevant to their field of research.
The role will support research activities, scholarly outputs, funding submissions, collaboration with partners, dissemination of outcomes, and publications for peer-reviewed journals.
The position reports to Professor Alison Ritter and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities Summary:
- Contribute to the preparation of research proposal submissions to funding bodies and seek collaboration with community and industry partners as appropriate.
- Contribute independently and as part of a team to collaborative research that enhances research outcomes in the discipline area.
- Conduct research and support research teams to create scholarly outputs recognised by peers.
- Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to the development of research activities.
- Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
- Undertake research activities including surveys, literature reviews, data gathering and recording of results using appropriate research methods.
- Participate in and/or present at conferences and workshops relevant to the project as required.
- Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required.
- Contribute to publications for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
Skills and Experience Summary:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
