Job Description Summary
This is a full-time position with the Center for Health Behavior Research (CHBR) and UPenn Prevention Research Center (PRC). The Research Coordinator/ Senior Research Coordinator position will work on the UPenn PRC and the UPenn PRC's Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) Collaborating Center research project and network activities.
The University of Pennsylvania Prevention Research Center (UPenn PRC) is a community-engaged research center founded in 2014. The UPenn PRC's mission is to improve the health of people in Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and beyond by preventing, reducing, and treating chronic diseases. The center's core research project for 2024-2029 addresses implementation of evidence-based strategies to improve patient-provider communication to optimize management of early-stage breast, lung and rectal cancer in older adults.
CPCRN is a national network of researchers and healthcare and community partners who work together to advance cancer prevention and control science and reduce the burden of cancer among all populations. During the 2024-2029 funding cycle, the UPenn CPCRN Collaborating Center is conducting community- and patient-engaged research to increase risk assessment, counseling and referral to risk-stratified services for adults at increased risk for breast and colorectal cancer.
The Research Coordinator/ Senior Research Coordinator (RC/SRC) will support PRC and CPCRN research activities, including recruitment of and communication with study participants and data collection. The RC/SRC will organize PRC training programs and seminars assist the UPenn PRC Principal Investigator and co-Investigators as needed.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Provide support to the UPenn PRC Core Research Project (BEACON)
- Provide support to the UPenn PRC Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network Core Research Project (BRANCH)
- Support Center and Network activities of the UPenn PRC and UPenn PRC CPCRN Coordinating Center
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Position is contingent upon continued funding.
Qualifications
Both levels: Candidate should be organized and have the ability to multi-task. Must have experience working with Microsoft Office and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Clinical/community-based research experience and background in cancer prevention and control is strongly preferred.
Research Coordinator should have a Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Research Coordinator Senior should have a Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in public health or a related discipline preferred. Experience working on federally-funded research projects preferred.
