Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role
As a Research Development Advisor, you will support researchers to identify, develop, and secure national and international research funding opportunities. Working closely with academic staff across the University, you will provide expert guidance on proposal development, facilitate research collaborations, and help deliver high-quality funding applications that align with Massey's strategic research priorities.
You will lead key contestable funding rounds, building strong relationships with researchers, research leaders, and external funding agencies to maximise research success. This includes coordinating funding campaigns, providing advice on funder requirements, monitoring outcomes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
As part of the wider Research Operations team, you will contribute to researcher development initiatives, service improvement, and the delivery of responsive research support services. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the University's research performance while working in a collaborative, dynamic, and future-focused environment.
Mōu | About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Research management savvy, with a passion for helping others communicate the value and impact of their research.
- Experience in preparing grant applications, fostering research collaborations, and managing contestable funding opportunities.
- Knowledge of the New Zealand research funding landscape, tertiary education sector, and Vision Mātauranga.
- A tertiary research qualification or equivalent relevant experience, with expertise in a specialist discipline, industry engagement, or international funding.
- Strong organisational, writing, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

The salary for this position will depend on skills and experience but will be in the range of Grade 7 ($83,818 to $117,788).
