Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join the digital behavioural insights lab (DBI) as a Research Fellow. Our focus is on building digital health simulation models and interventions and cardiometabolic disease prevention and management. This is a full-time on-site position located in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, performing data collection analysis, and contributing to academic publications and presentations. They will also assist in the preparation of project reports and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Duties:

The appointee will be involved in the full lifecycle of research projects, from study design to publication. This includes development of machine learning models, computer simulations, and app/software engineering. This role requires strong academic writing skills and the ability to manage multiple components of research independently.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. contributing to the entire academic paper writing process, including drafting, reviewing, revising, and submitting manuscripts
  2. conducting literature reviews and performing basic statistical analyses using SPSS or R-Studio
  3. preparing and submitting ethics applications to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or other relevant ethics board
  4. coordinating and supervising assigned projects - including screening and recruitment, liaising with other departments, and managing participant appointments
  5. supporting participant recruitment and onboarding for research studies
  6. participating in data collection activities, ranging from online surveys (e.g., Qualtrics) to in-person data collection
  7. cleaning, managing and updating large datasets throughout the course of the studies
  8. assisting with the review, amendment, and resubmission of manuscripts as needed

Qualifications

  • PhD in computing science, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines
  • Strong Analytical Skills and ability to interpret research data and findings
  • Expertise in machine learning, building system architecture, software engineering, and the use of relevant software and tools
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet project deadlines
  • Prior academic or applied research experience is advantageous

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in research and project management.
