Research Fellow (Materials Discovery AI Techniques)

The Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials is seeking to recruit a research fellow in materials discovery AI techniques. The key responsibilities will be to:

  • Participate in a research programme investigating multi-fidelity computational chemistry methods and the appropriate interfacing and development of AI techniques to these
  • Assist with publishing original work
  • Participate in student supervision at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Develop a research profile through conferences and seminar
  • Enhance relationships with collaborators both local and international

Job Requirements

An ideal candidate will be able to show:

  • A PhD in quantum chemistry or similar field
  • An ability to supervise students and the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Experience supervising and coordinating team activities
  • Research with experience developing and utilizing computational methods
  • A proven record of research excellence
  • Demonstrated evidence of independent research ability
  • Experience in record keeping, preparation of research papers, and presentation of seminars
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience interacting with a variety of researchers and stakeholders
