The Department of Chinese Studies, National University of Singapore, is one of the leading institutions in the world in the fields of Chinese Studies and Chinese Language and a major centre in Southeast Asia. We invite applications for the post of Research Fellow in Middle-Imperial Chinese literature.
The successful applicant is expected to have a strong commitment to research in their subfield and related areas, as well as perform research administrative duties for the Department and its associated research units. The applicant will also be required to teach their subfield or related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and may need to provide supervision to undergraduate and graduate students and assist with the Department's curriculum and development.

- Statements of research accomplishments and teaching philosophy/methodology
- Complete list of publications (including theses and dissertations) and at least two representative publications;
- Course outlines and copies of student evaluations of courses taught (if available);
- List of four possible references including PhD supervisor (letters are not required at the point of application).

Qualifications
Applicants for this position should have a PhD in East Asian Studies or Comparative Literature, or any other relevant discipline. Their research should focus on middle imperial Chinese literature, and research experience in related subfields such as history of the book, material culture and literati culture will be preferred. Scholars who can contribute to interdisciplinarity in research, in particular those with experience in digital humanities or computational methods are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants with teaching experience in pre-modern and modern Chinese literature are also preferred. They should possess professional competence in both Mandarin and English as they will need to carry out research and teach in both languages.
