Job Requirements

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Genomics, Viral Genomics, or other related disciplines.
  • Prior experience in designing/developing implementing virome analyses for large-scale metagenomic or meta-transcriptomic datasets is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pathogenic viruses in animal reservoirs is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative research with experimental or field-based virologists.
  • Possess strong knowledge in Linux/Unix operating systems and high-performance computing clusters.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Bash, R and Python scripting.
  • Possess excellent quantitative, analytical, organisation skills, and basic experimental skills (e.g. PCR, NGS)
  • Self-motived, able to work effectively and efficiently, willing to work hard to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce.
