Research focus

We build working systems in multi-modal AI and mobile sensing. For this position, the emphasis is on recognition and imaging/perception using radar and sonar (optionally with vision) on mobile UxV platforms (e.g., UGV/UAV/USV/AUV). The postdoc will work on end-to-end systems that combine learning + sensing + deployment, including dataset collection, model development, and real-world evaluation on platforms.

We engage with industry (e.g., Microsoft, Google Research, Amazon), publish top-tier papers, and release software for the research community.

We seek candidates who:

  • Have a strong publication record in top-tier AI/robotics conferences and journals.
  • Work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Excel at deep technical thinking and strong execution (fast prototyping, rigorous evaluation).
  • Have outstanding programming skills and hands-on experience in experimentation/implementation.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering (or expected within 6 months).
  • Strong experience with C/C++ and/or Python (and/or Java).
  • Demonstrated research experience in multi-modal learning and perception, e.g., recognition, imaging, tracking, especially with radar and/or sonar. (Vision-only is acceptable if you have strong multi-modal experience.)

Compensation & term

  • Salary range: SGD 90,000 – 100,000 per year
  • Duration: 1–2 years
  • Expected start date: early 2026
